Finca Lobeira
A wine of landscape and singular energy.
BuyBorn of a place of great magnetism that is destined to be one of the leading Rías Baixas vineyards of the future. A wine with a singular landscape and energy that seems to contain all the mystery of the famous mountain to which it owes its name. It is the only Mar de Frades wine that is not made from a single varietal.

Vineyard
Our own vineyard of 7.97 hectares is located at an altitude of 134 metres above sea level, in a valley on the northern slope of Monte Lobeira, among pine and eucalyptus forests. Its two key characteristics are the protection of the mountain and its proximity to the coast of the municipalities Vilagarcía and Vilanova de Arousa, which constitute one of the main centres for shellfish farming.
Production
This wine takes Mar de Frades’ winemaking to an even more demanding level. The main objective is to take the utmost care of an vineyard that will eventually become one of the most prized gems in Rías Baixas viticulture. The grapes are macerated for 15 hours at 12ºC in Ganimede tanks, after which they are gently pressed in a closed press. The must is fermented with indigenous yeasts at 17ºC. The wine is matured for a year in contact with the lees, and then spends two years in stainless steel tanks with periodic bâtonnage.
