The Atlantic always finds new ways to surprise us. This time, it comes in the form of bubbles. Mar de Frades presents Blanc de Blancs, a new sparkling wine that expands our world and brings a new expression to our interpretation of the Atlantic.

As Paula Fandiño, winemaker at Mar de Frades, explains: “A versatile sparkling wine, made for effortless enjoyment. A NEW APPROACH TO SPARKLING WINE

Blanc de Blancs is crafted from a selection of indigenous white grape varieties from the cool-climate regions of northern Spain, including Albariño. This blend is designed to preserve the freshness and character of the varieties while creating a sparkling wine with a distinctive personality: floral and citrus-led, with a subtle Atlantic salinity. Winemaking begins with gentle pressing and low-temperature fermentation to preserve the grapes’ varietal character. A second fermentation using the Charmat method, followed by four months of lees contact, adds body, softness and a rounder texture on the palate. The result is a fresh, expressive sparkling wine, with a lively mousse and vibrant acidity that invites another sip.

THE CHARACTER OF BLANC DE BLANCS

White fruit and citrus aromas emerge on the nose, accompanied by delicate floral notes. The palate reveals hints of green apple, lemon zest and subtle tropical fruit nuances, alongside lively acidity and a saline character that extends its freshness. A light, balanced expression, made to be enjoyed from the very first sip.

Its freshness and character make this an especially versatile sparkling wine. Perfect as an apéritif, it is equally at home at the table, where its acidity and freshness complement a variety of flavours and dishes. Its Atlantic profile pairs beautifully with fish and shellfish, while its citrus and floral notes work particularly well with light, fresh dishes.
